  • Traffic stop leads to arrest for pot and needles

  • FONDA — A St. Johnsville man was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of a hypodermic instrument on Dec. 4, according to state police.
    Bernard W. Wrobel, Jr., 29, was arrested as a result of a traffic stop on state Route 5 in the town of Palatine. Wrobel was stopped for operating a vehicle without a front plate when police recognized the vehicle as being involved in numerous gas larcenies from several locations throughout Montgomery County. Police said during the stop they detected an odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle and located a marijuana pipe with burnt marijuana and two hypodermic needles.
    Police said Wrobel admitted to stealing gas from Stewart’s in St. Johnsville as well as stealing property from a MetLife building in Herkimer County. The investigation is continuing.
    Wrobel was released on appearance tickets returnable in Palatine Town Court on Dec. 19, police said.
