HERKIMER — Herkimer Now is organizing the inaugural Herkimer Holiday Stroll, to take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 21, along the Main and Albany streets corridor in the village of Herkimer.
Participating businesses will conduct in-store promotions and eateries will offer lunch specials. There will be a holiday story hour and ornament making at 11 a.m. at the Frank J. Basloe Library and Herkimer Community Museum, and Santa will arrive by fire truck at 12 p.m. and will be available at Imperial Games until 3 p.m. for pictures. Horse drawn wagon rides will be available from 12 to 3 p.m. near the corner of North Main and Mary streets. The living nativity will be performed at the Herkimer Reformed Church at 1 and 2 p.m. Strolling carolers will be up and down the street from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. There will be an unveiling of a mural at the former Glory Days building at 1:30 p.m. In addition, the Herkimer County Historical Society and Herkimer Community Museum will be open during the day, a storefront decorating contest will take polace and warming stations will be available at the First Baptist Church and Imperial Games.
