ILION, N.Y. — The Little Falls Mounties started strong on the road Thursday and defeated Central Valley Academy 4-1 at the State Bowling Center.
The Mounties put up a team score of 990 for the first game of a match that saw both teams score in the 700s other wise. Little Falls also took the second game before Central Valley put up its top score of the day in the third. The 234-pin margin in the first game made the difference as Little Falls also won total pins 2,510-2,293.
Dan Corbett’s 258 and Alan Chlus’ 230 were the high games and both came in the first for Little Falls. Matt Sammons had a team-high 538 series while Josh Boyle rolled a 536, Chlus had a 524 and Corbett finished with a 519.
Dan Lennon led Central Valley Academy with a 516 series that included a high of 184. Marshall Sterling threw a 513 series with a 213 in the third game.
The Thunder’s junior varsity squad was a 5-0 winner in its match.
