  • JOHNSTOWN — State police arrested a New York man twice on marijuana charges in 36 hours after troopers stopped his car in each instance for veering out of its lane.
Troopers say Saturday they first stopped Jerome Fonda at about 1:45 a.m. Friday in Johnstown. They say he had 55 grams of marijuana, failed a sobriety test and registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.09 percent. The legal limit is .08.
The 28-year-old Northville man was charged with DWI and marijuana possession, arraigned and remanded to jail.
But they say troopers found a pipe and 21 grams of marijuana after again pulling him over at 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
It wasn’t clear if Fonda had a lawyer. No phone number was listed at his address. His next court date is Jan. 15.
