  • OSWEGO — A dog rescue agency is looking for homes for Siberian huskies rescued from an Oswego County puppy mill.
Glenn Rawls of the Siberian Husky Rescue Program of New York State tells WSYR TV that the dogs were kept in small kennels in a dark barn and are afraid of people.
Tanya Semchenko, president of Oswego County SPCA, says more than 50 huskies and two golden retrievers were handed over by a breeder in the village of Hannibal. She says the dogs were forced to breed so many times that some couldn’t even walk.
Semchenko says several agencies have helped place the dogs in shelters and homes, but there are still 11 huskies in need of adoption. They’re between one and two years old and not socialized.
