NORWICH — Authorities say they’ve upgraded charges against a central New York man whose former girlfriend was found slain in the driveway of her rural upstate New York home last week.
The Chenango County Sheriff’s Office tells local media outlets that 48-year-old William Danielson of Oxford has been charged with second-degree murder in the slaying of Lucinda Knoll. He was originally charged Friday with attempted murder and robbery. The charges were upgraded after the 39-year-old mother of three sons died on Saturday.
Officials say Knoll suffered severe head trauma when she was attacked early Friday morning at her home in the town of Norwich, 45 miles southeast of Norwich.
Danielson is being held in the county jail without bail. He’s scheduled to be arraigned on the murder charges on Monday.
It couldn’t be determined if he has a lawyer.
