  • ALBANY — Wintery weather continues to extract a deadly toll on New York’s roadways.
    A 55-year-old man was killed in Oswego on Friday afternoon when he veered into oncoming traffic. The sheriff’s office says icy road conditions factored into his death.
    Another person died in a weather-related two-car crash Friday night in Sterling, northwest of Syracuse.
    A 26-year-old snowmobiler died after hitting a guardrail during a 3 a.m. ride Friday in Lyons, located between Syracuse and Rochester. Two fellow snowmobilers were charged with drunken driving.
    Drivers also died Thursday evening in weather-related crashes on Interstate 87 in the Adirondacks and on Long Island’s Southern State Parkway.
    A woman with Alzheimer’s froze to death Thursday after she wandered from her rural western home.
