ILION, N.Y. — The Central Valley Academy Thunder won Tuesday’s opening game but Westmoreland roared back to win the match in four.
Down a game early, Westmoreland’s Bulldogs regrouped and won 20-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-18 on the road.
Anthony Poile had five kills, a block, three aces and three digs for Westmoreland; Tyler Misiaszek served five aces with six kills; Kevin Fedor had 11 assists, three kills and an ace; Tim Harrison had six kills; and Morgan Rolewicz had nine assists and three aces.
Felipe Zenteno had 13 kills, four blocks, 10 assists and 12 digs for Central Valley Academy; Chris Welch had 12 assists, four aces and three digs; Elisha Carnright had 14 digs; Aaron Williams had seven kills, a block, an ace and five digs; and Colton Maine had four kills and five blocks.
The Thunder is home again for Thursday’s match against Chittenango while Westmoreland returns to Herkimer County to take on Herkimer.
