  • GIRLS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Holland Patent ends Maroon Knights' winning streak

  • FRANKFORT, N.Y. — Four Holland Patent players scored in double figures Thursday and the Golden Knights ended the Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights’ six-game winning streak with a 64-59 victory.
    Frankfort-Schuyler (8-2) had led by nine points at halftime before being out scored 22-13 in the third quarter and heading to the fourth tied at 48.
    Alyssa Curtis led the Golden Knights (4-4) with 23 points while Riley Reinold added 13 and Ally Livesey and Jessica Livesey each scored 11.
    Danielle Migliore had 24 points, five assists, two steals, five rebounds and two blocked shots for the Maroon Knights. Kaitlyn Di’Flo recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kristy Wallace scored nine points, Gabriella Caruso had four steals and Alexis Bianchi grabbed six rebounds.
    Frankfort-Schuyler’s next game is Tuesday in Poland.

    POLAND, N.Y. — The Poland Tornadoes ran their winning streak to nine games Thursday with a 60-29 victory over the Stockbridge Valley Cougars.
    The Tornadoes (10-1), ranked 13th in the state in Class D, outscored the visiting Cougars 20-0 in the first quarter and 23-4 in the third. They led 54-13 at the start of the final period.
    Kara Morrison scored 13 pints to lead Poland which had 11 players get in on the scoring. Shiane Irwin had nine points, Miranda Robson scored eight and Paige Sullivan added seven.
    Olivia Marshall scored 16 points and Cassie Marshall had nine for Stockbridge Valley.
    The Tornadoes’ next game is Tuesday at home against Frankfort-Schuyler. The Maroon Knights defeated Poland 57-52 in the teams’ first meeting Dec. 5.
