UTICA — The League of Women Voters of the Utica-Rome Metro Area will conduct its first general meeting of the new year at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Dorothy Smith Advocacy Center, 1607 Genesee St., Utica.
The program is free, but if individuals wish to join the League for breakfast, the cost will be $12 per member, $15 per nonmember.

The meeting will feature a presentation and discussion on the Oneida County Sewer District Abatement Project, an $11.7 million infrastructure improvement plan for the region.
Featured speakers will include Steven P. Devan, commissioner of the Oneida County Department of Water Quality and Water Pollution Control, Brian Whittaker, senior project engineer for O’Brien & Gere; and Catherine Manion, public relations account executive for Paige Marketing Communications Group.
