  • BOYS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: League-leading Marauders win at ODY

  • VAN HORNESVILLE, N.Y. — The New York Mills Marauders snapped Owen D. Young’s seven-game winning streak Thursday with a 70-50 victory over the Wildcats.
    Nick Comenale scored 28 points for the Marauders (12-1, 4-0 CSC-IV) and moved within 14 of 1,000 for his career. Zach Vennaro added 17 points and 10 rebounds while Terrance Nichols scored 12 points.
    Maxwell Crisman scored 14 points and Marty Collins had 12 for Owen D. Young (8-4, 2-3 CSC-IV).
    The Wildcats are home Saturday for a non-league game against Blessed Virgin Mary Academy of Warners.

    POLAND — Mark Hennings scored 28 points Thursday and the Poland Tornadoes kept their record perfect in Division IV of the Center State Conference with a 68-42 win over the Oriskany Redskins.
    The Tornadoes led 20-18 after the opening period and stretched the margin to 15 points before pulling away in the fourth quarter.
    Cameron Tabor scored 10 point for Poland and Ross Agen had nine.
    Oriskany got 12 points from Anthony Warcup and 10 from Ryan Schmadel.

    BOONVILLE, N.Y. — The Adirondack Wildcats endured a fast Canastota start Thursday but recovered and defeated the Raiders 68-59.
    Canastota (4-6, 2-4 CSC-I) hit 11 three-pointers on the road and jumped ahead 24-8 in the game’s opening four minutes. The Raiders would score just three more points in the final four minutes of the period and 35 in the final 28 minutes of the game.
    Ethan Wiedmer but the halftime buzzer with a shot to put Adirondack (5-6, 2-3 CSC-I) up 39-37 at the break. The Wildcats then outscored their guests 14-5 in the third quarter to take an 11-point lead.
    Ryan Dellerba scored a career-high 22 points to lead the Wildcats. Jordan Millard added 19 points and Kyle Swiecki had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
    Page 2 of 2 - Bailey Curtis had five three-pointers and led Canastota with 23 points.
    Adirondack takes on Sherburne-Earlvile at home Saturday.
