  • COOPERSTOWN — A joint meeting of the Otsego County Conservation Association and the League of Women Voters of the Cooperstown Area will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel, 25 Church St.
Karen Sullivan, Otsego County Solid Waste and Planning Department director, will discuss the actions taken by Otsego County this past year in dissolving its contract as a member of Montgomery-Otsego-Schoharie Solid Waste Management Authority.
Sullivan will also outline some of the county's plans moving forward with regard to recycling, composting and future initiatives.
“Both the League and OCCA have a shared interest in promoting recycling and reducing the creation of solid waste,” said OCCA Special Projects Manager Martha Clarvoe, who organized the event.
The meeting will be free and open to the public; refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Martha Clarvoe at 607-293-6654.
