  • HERKIMER, NY Frank J. Lawrence, 70, of Herkimer, went to be with the Lord on April 11th, 2014, with his loving family by his side.
    Frank was born on April 30th, 1943, in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of the late Sara Bowman Lawrence and Leo Lawrence. Frank attended Owen D. Young Central School, class of 1961. On April 10th, 1964, he was joined in marriage to Sherry Blair. Frank and Sherry celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on April 10th, 2014. It was celebrated at Little Falls Hospital with banners, streamers, balloons, hats and a special dinner. Thank you M.I.B.H. staff and the staff at Little Falls Hospital.
    He was employed with Mohawk Data Science for many years, until his retirement. His friends and family would tell you that he was a good, kind and caring man, someone that you could always count on. His happiest moments were with his family and friends.
    Frank is survived by his wife, Sherry, and his children, Michele Lawrence and her partner, Maryann Schero, of Long Island, Frank Lawrence, Jr., and wife, Kim, of Glens Falls, Linda and Rob Lawrence, of Richfield Springs, Joseph Lawrence and wife, Janne, of Ilion, Hope Bennett and husband, Brian, of Herkimer, and Jason Lawrence and wife, Rayann, of Frankfort. He leaves 16 cherished grandchildren and 10 adored great-grandchildren. These children were the light of his life. He also leaves a sister, Lillian Price, of Newport; a sister-in-law, Pat Lawrence, of Ilion; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Shaw, of Utica; and many nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Glen, Gene and Bruce; his sister, Cecelia; a great-granddaughter, Maddie; two brothers-in-law, William Price, of Newport, and Billy Shaw, of Utica.
    Funeral arrangements are in the caring guidance of Daniel J. Enea Funeral and Cremation Care located at 5860 State Route 5, East Herkimer, 508-5250. Calling hours will be on Tuesday (today), April 15, 2014, from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Jay Scienza officiating, with burial to be private in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion, NY.
    Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
