  • SAUQUOIT, N.Y. — Little Falls defeated Sauquoit Valley’s Indians Monday in a rematch of Section III’s Class C-1 title game from last spring.
Theo Wind pitched a complete game three-hitter for Little Falls (3-1), striking out nine batters while walking two. He shut the Indians out until the sixth inning.
In the seventh, Sauquoit Valley scored one run and had the bases loaded with one out. First baseman Kobe Jackson forced a runner at second on a ground ball but the return throw was too late to complete a double play. Jackson then threw home to catcher Jon Willman who tagged Korey Lewandrowski out for the final out of the game.
Sean Ward had three hits and drove in two runs for Little Falls. Nate Zambri added two hits, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
The Mounties had been scheduled to play at home Tuesday against Adirondack. That game has been moved to Wednesday with a 3 p.m. first pitch.
