  • SCHOLASTIC GOLF ROUNDUP: Davenport, WCV win at Twin Ponds

  • UTICA, N.Y. — Bobby Davenport shot a 38 at Twin Ponds Thursday and the West Canada Valley Indians defeated New York Mills’ Marauders by 15 strokes on their home course.
    The Indians (2-0) won 188-203.
    Cameron Soja’s 44 was the low round for the Marauders (1-1).

    LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — The Herkimer Magicians were 188-216 winners at the Mohawk Valley County Club Thursday against Cooperstown’s Hawkeyes.
    Medalist Ryan Stilwell shot a 44 for Herkimer (4-1).
    Teddy Trosset had a 45 for Cooperstown (1-2).
    MT. MARKHAM 210
    LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — Nicky Visconti, an eighth-grader playing his first varsity match, took medalist honors at the Little Falls Municipal Golf Course Thursday and helped the Little Falls Mounties defeat Mt. Markham’s Mustangs 175-210 for their first victory of the season.
    Visconti shot a five-over-par 41 to lead the Mounties (1-1). Jimmy Amuso and Vinny Visconti added matching 43s and Miller Tooley completed the team scoring with a 48.
    Ken Wysluzaly the low round for Mt. Markham (0-2), a 48. Zack Barrett followed with a 52, Matt Merrit shot a 54 and Logan Palmer had a 56.
    OLD FORGE 205
    BOONVILLE, N.Y. — Medalists Tyler Althoff and Michael Gardner both shot 44s and Adirondack teammate Jordan Millard was one stroke back Thursday as the Wildcats defeated Old Forge and Holland Patent at Woodgate Pines.
    Austyn Lott’s 47 completed the team scoring for Adirondack (3-1) which finished at 180 with Old Forge at 205 and Holland Patent at 228.
    Evan Nahor shot a 48 to lead Old Forge (1-1) while Will Wadas’ 53 was the low round for Holland Patent (0-2).
