  • HERKIMER — Herkimer College students Jonathan Knickerbocker and Lauren Robinson were among 68 SUNY and CUNY students named to the Phi Theta Kappa All New York Academic Team.
Phi Theta Kappa is the national honor society for two-year college students.
Knickerbocker, from Niskayuna, was a business administration major. While at Herkimer, he was Phi Theta Kappa Chapter president, a student ambassador and a member of student activities committee and Phi Theta Lambda. He transferred to Cazenovia College in January. His career goal is to be a corporate manager.
Robinson was a general studies major from Ilion. She transferred to Utica College in January. She was also named to Who’s Who in American Junior Colleges.
SUNY Chancellor Nancy Zimpher recognized the students who received awards from Phi Theta Kappa at a Phi Theta Kappa award ceremony on April 2 at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.
“Students recognized by Phi Theta Kappa truly embody the power of SUNY,” said Zimpher in a news release. “As proven leaders and role models, scholar athletes, creative artists and civic volunteers, each student is recognized not just for academic achievement, but also for the profound impact they have on college campuses and local communities across New York state.”
