Mt Mansfield in the distance
NY has many wonderful places to explore - but then so do some of our neighboring states as well. I found it interesting to climb Mt. Mansfiled in Vermont and then enjoy the views the summit gave me of my dearly loved NY state. This hike is a nice one to take beginning in Underhill State Park and following the Sunset Ridge Trail. I would highly recomend this for a fall hike! Climbing up the trail, you see wonderful vistas as the trail twists and turns up the mountain - but coming down the views were so spectacular it was difficult to remember to keep my eyes on my footing instead of on the vistas spread before me!
Champlain Valley from the trail
The golden mountains side and golden hills in the distance really need to be seen. Head out to the mountains and trails this fall and create some memories for the gloomier days of winter ahead.
