Summer is a bit of a down time for me as a Unitarian Universalist minister. I take time of for study and reflection, and for vacation. So instead of my usual columns, I would like to share some of my poetry with you.
Day Prayer

Day, be precious.
Day, be dear.
Day, bloom lovely, strong, and clear.
Day, be mellow.
Day, be kind.
Day, dance lightly in my mind.
Day, be gentle.
Day, be sweet.
Day, walk softly with my feet.
Day, be patient.
Understand, Life is flowing through my hands.
Day, be tender, from the start
Day, write loving on my heart.
Day, be watchful.
Day, be warm.
Day, keep children safe from harm.
Day, be healthy.
Day, be whole.
Day, sing calmly in our souls.
Day, be peaceful.
Day, be right.
Day, lead softly on to night.
