Herkimer, N.Y. -

HERKIMER — Area residents have a new banking opportunity with the opening of a new AmeriCu Credit Union branch in the EFK Plaza at 326 E. State Street in the village of Herkimer.
The branch officially opened Dec. 27, 2007, but held its ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration Thursday.

“Nowadays everyone is so stressed for time and there are only 24 hours in a day,” said president and chief executive officer Mark Pfister. “This technology allows our members to do banking when its convenient for them. We’ll basically be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
The BNA ATMs can process all withdrawals and deposits that regular ATMs can do. In addition the BNA ATMs can transfer funds and make loan, mortgage, and credit card payments.
The teller kiosks can process all transactions that the BNA ATMs can and also perform transactions such as providing account history, dispensing checks, issuing a stop payment, changing account information and crossing accounts.
The teller workstations allow members to conduct all financial services through high-tech teller system, which provides more convenience.

“We’re excited about this new branch in the village,” Ainsworth said. “I hope it offers some great services to our residents.”
