The Herkimer Police Department, with assistance from the Herkimer County Department of Social Services and the Herkimer County District Attorney’s Office, have arrested David Allen Dennis, 25, of King Street, Herkimer on charges of third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child. The arrest followed a week long investigation.
Police said the charges stem from Dennis having sexual relations with a female under the 17 years old.
He was arraigned in village court and sent to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail, $20,000 bond.
The investigation is continuing and he is due back in court today.
Dolgeville man charged with mischief, trespass
DOLGEVILLE — Dolgeville Police arrested Scott Lanphere, 21, of 7 Howard St., Dolgeville, on March 6 at 9:10 p.m. at 20 Winton Lane on charges of fourth-degree criminal mischief and trespassing.
Police said he was arrested after an altercation where he destroyed another’s property and refused to leave the residence.
He was released on appearance tickets to reappear in court on a later date.
Man charged with stolen property possession
LITTLE FALLS — Little Falls Police arrested Richard K. Jones Jr., 22, of 6 Horn St., Dolgeville, on March 6 and charged him with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and identity theft.
Police said after an investigation, they were able to determine Jones had used a stolen credit card to make purchases in Herkimer and Little Falls.
He was released on an appearance ticket and is set to return to court later this month.
Herkimer Investigator Robert Risi assisted Little Falls Police with the case.
Teen faces first-degree rape charge
LITTLE FALLS — Little Falls Police arrested a 17-year-old male, whose name was not released due to his age, on March 4 and charged him with first-degree rape.
The male was arraigned in city court and sent to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail, $50,000 bond.
The investigation was done with assistance from the Child Advocacy Center and the Herkimer County District Attorney’s Office.
