Village police are investigating an arson attempt at Remington Elementary School on Tuesday night.
Police and fire officials responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. that a fire had broken out behind the school. The fire was located next to the concession stand near the soccer field. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze that was made of primarily “newspaper and trash,” according to Village Fire Chief Jim Trevett. Damage was limited to the concession stand door and part of the concrete.
Village Police are still investigating the incident.
