A village man was undergoing a mental health evaluation after he was tasered during an incident Tuesday night.
Town Police said Robert S. Streeter, of East Main Street, threatened his neighbor with a butcher knife around 10:50 p.m. A 911 call prompted Town Police to arrive on the scene where they said Streeter refused to surrender his weapon. Officers then deployed a Taser X26 electronic control device and Streeter was taken into custody.
Streeter was brought to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica for a mental health evaluation. He was still being treated at the hospital Wednesday afternoon.
Town police said no charges had been filed yet since Streeter was still hospitalized.
