Herkimer man arrested in connection with stabbing

Ilion, N.Y. -
Ilion Police arrested John J. Stanley III, 26, of 114 S. Washington St., Herkimer, and charged with second-degree assault.
Police said the charges stem from an incident which took place during the early morning hours of April 5 during a fight where another man was stabbed in the abdomen.
He was arraigned in village court and sent to the Herkimer County Correctional Facility in lieu of $15,000 bail, $30,000 bond. There will be further proceedings next week.
