Despite a state rejection of an application for 80 assisted-living beds for Country Manor, Herkimer County officials said the sale of the adult home still is going through. The offer with Advanced Healthcare would allow the business to purchase the facility for $335,000 over a five-year term.

Despite a state rejection of an application for 80 assisted-living beds for Country Manor, Herkimer County officials said the sale of the adult home still is going through.
County Administrator James Wallace said the buyer — Advanced Healthcare Management — plans to move forward with the purchase.
“They've submitted their certificate-of-need application (to the state Health Department),” he said. “I believe they're moving forward.”
Wallace said Advanced Healthcare has until June 1 to get all the paperwork submitted.
A call to a company representative was not returned.
In September, the Herkimer County Legislature voted 13 - 3, with one abstention, to move forward with the sale of the Herkimer adult-care facility.
For years, the county has attempted to downsize or sell the manor because of what officials say are increasing operating costs and dwindling state funds.
