The Frankfort-Schuyler school district has joined three other districts in the county with a confirmed case of H1N1 virus, commonly referred to as swine flu.
Parents received a letter late last week and the district’s Web site also informs the community of a confirmed case of the virus within the district, officials said.
As health officials have said, over 95 percent of those demonstrating flu-like symptoms are believed to have H1N1 after there is a confirmation in the area.
Frankfort-Schuyler becomes the fourth local school district, along with West Canada Valley, Herkimer and Little Falls, dealing with keeping residents and students alike informed.
District officials were unable to provide attendance figures Wednesday for the junior-senior high school and Reese Road Elementary.
