Utica woman accused of assaulting Little Falls police officer

A Utica woman faces a felony charge after she allegedly resisted arrest and injured a Little Falls police officer.
Crystal Ann Pontius, 25, of William Street, was charged with felony second-degree assault, misdemeanor resisting arrest and the violations of disorderly conduct and unlawful possession of marijuana, Little Falls police said.
Police arrested Pontius after they responded to a fight on Furnace Street, where Pontius then kicked garbage cans at them and resisted arrest, police said.
One officer was injured during the incident, police said.
Pontius was arraigned and sent to Herkimer County jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bail bond.
