A domestic violence complaint at the Homestead Mobile Park Tuesday morning that escalated into a standoff with state police ended after five hours when a 29-year-old man agreed to exit his residence, according to troopers.
Troopers responded to a 911 call from a neighbor at just before 8 a.m., reporting an argument between the man and his girlfriend could be heard inside the Circle Drive residence in the town of Danube, Capt. Frank Coots said.
Police arrived and convinced the woman, Sharon Schorer, to come out of the mobile home, but the man, Michael Grogan, refused to exit, Coots said.
Unaware of Grogan’s intentions, troopers called in members of the crisis negotiations team and SWAT team to assist at the scene, Coots said.
After establishing communications with Grogan, negotiators convinced him to come out of the residence, Coots said.
Both Gorgan and Schorer were released. The investigation is ongoing, and charges could be filed at a later time, Coots added.
