The Herkimer Village Board of Trustees held a public hearing Monday on its proposal to increase certain fees on everything from reserving a park to building a fence.
The proposed local law was passed unanimously and took effect immediately.
Many fees for permits and certain services will increase by $5. Several new fees, penalties and deposits will also be added to the village fee schedule if the board adopts the local law.
What you need to know:
New fees or deposits enacted by the Herkimer village board:
•$150 for either a “nuisance” or “tampering” alarm that results in police or fire personnel responses.
•$25 carry-out garbage, refundable deposit for village residents is required for reserved use of a village park (including Brookwood, Sam Maytan Fishing site), and increasing to $50 for non-village residents.
•$25 reserved Myers Park use for non-village residents.
•$15 for building permits for construction, including fencing, that has a total valuation up to $500.
