Congressman Erica Massa announced late Wednesday afternoon that he will not seek re-election.

Massa, a cancer survivor, said he made this decision for health reasons, claiming that he is once again fighting a battle with cancer.

Allegations also surfaced Wednesday that he sexually harassed a male staffer, but Massa has denied this.

Massa, who is married with two children, is a 20-year Navy veteran, and was elected to office in November 2008 to represent the 29th Congressional District. He serves on the Agriculture, Armed Services and Homeland Security committees.
