Herkimer, N.Y. —
A Frankfort teen was arrested on Jan. 9, on grand larceny charges, according to state police in Herkimer.
Thomas Taverne, 17, of Frankfort, was charged with third-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree grand larceny in connection with the theft of two motor vehicles in the village of West Winfield.
The vehicles were stolen on Dec. 23 and Dec. 28, 2012, police said.
One of the vehicles was subsequently recovered abandoned in the town of Plainfield in Otsego County and the other in the town of Winfield in Herkimer County, police said.
Troopers from the state police Richfield Springs barracks assisted in the investigation.
Taverne was arraigned in Herkimer Village Court and was committed to the Herkimer County jail on $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bail bond, police said.
