Michael Remis, 59, of 41 N. Fourth Ave., in Ilion, passed away on February 26, 2010.

Mike was born on March 10, 1950, in Ilion, the son of the late John and Rachel (Conover) Remis. He was educated in Ilion schools and was employed as a sub assembler at Remington Arms, retiring seven years ago. Mike was married to Kathy Pardee on January 10, 1976. He was active with the Boy Scouts and was a member of the Ilion Knights of Columbus.

Mike is survived by his wife, Kathy; a son, Jamie and his wife, Holly, of Ilion; a daughter, Katie and her husband, Jeff Burns, of Herkimer; and five grandchildren. He also leaves his brothers, John and his wife, Janet, of MD, and James and his wife, Carolyn, of Ilion; his aunt, Grace (Remis) Jones; and father-in-law, Carl Pardee. Mike also leaves all his friends at youth hockey, where he enjoyed watching his grandson. Mike was predeceased by a brother, Joseph.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 5, 2010, at 6 p.m. at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, with Deacon James Bower officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
