Kenneth Paul Rix, 67, died at Parkview Kindred Hospital in Springfield, Mass., on Oct. 20, 2008.
Mr. Rix was born on Sept. 17, 1941, in Schenectady, N.Y., the son of Antoinette (Tresohlava) and Paul W. Rix. He grew up in Mohawk, N.Y., and attended schools there as well as in Ashville, N.C. He graduated from North Carolina State University with two bachelor’s degrees; he earned his master’s degree from Rochester RPI. He worked for United Technologies, Pratt & Whitney, and Sikorsky Aircraft for many years before retiring. He enjoyed stamp collecting, walking, hiking, and the out-of-doors.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Scott Rix and his son, David Scott Rix, both of Antrim; his mother of Sebring, Fla.; his brother, Gerald and his wife of Duluth, Ga.; two sisters, Anita Rawls and her husband of Ringgold, Georgia, and Patricia Spain and her husband of Hickory, N.C.; two aunts, an uncle, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There are no calling hours; burial will be private for the family in Maplewood Cemetery in Antrim.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Antrim Ambulance, 66 Main Street, Antrim, NH 03440.
Jellison Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
