Ida L. (Ferrucci) Barretta

Mrs. Ida L. (Ferrucci) Barretta, 81, of Rockton Plaza Apartments, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Friday afternoon, July 23, 2010, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, with her loving family by her side.

She was born on August 28, 1928, in Harrisburg, PA, daughter of the late Joseph and Elsie Ferrucci. She enjoyed a loving marriage of 45 years with the late Louis S. Barretta, who passed away on February 2, 1991. Mrs. Barretta was formerly employed with the Daniel Green Company, Dolgeville, and the Best Western Hotel, Little Falls. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. For many years, Mrs. Barretta took loving care of her husband, children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her loving family; her children, Carol Hazzard and husband, Leland, of Fort Plain, Louis Barretta and wife, Elaine, of Dolgeville, David Barretta and wife, Donna, of Little Falls, Paula Barretta and companion, Tom Rathbun, of Salisbury, Michael Barretta and wife, Jerry, of Mohawk, and Kathy Nolan and husband, Paul, of Cedarville; Ida’s siblings, Josephine Kabot and husband,  Greg, of Utica, Tony Ferrucci and wife, Mary Jane, of Utica, James Ferrucci, of Little Falls, and Rocky Ferrucci and wife, Sandy, of Nebraska; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband; and beloved grandson, Daniel James Barretta.

Visitation at Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe Street, Little Falls (823-2424), will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Mrs. Barretta’s funeral will commence at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, from Holy Family Parish, corner of E. Main and John Streets, Little Falls, where the Rev. Thomas Lawless, Pastor, will celebrate her Mass of Christian Burial. Funeral procession will follow to St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer, where she will be laid to rest in the family plot.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, and Little Falls Hospital for all of their kindness and compassion during this difficult time. Also, a heartfelt thanks to Dr. David Liu for his professionalism.
