Janice Lynn (Wohler) Reginelli, 61, of 19 S. Fifth Ave., passed away Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, where she was surrounded by the love and comfort of her daughters, after a long and courageous battle against cancer.
Janice was born Nov. 10, 1950, in Ilion, the daughter of the late Gerald and Helen Preston Wohler. She was a member of the Ilion High School Class of 1968 and at one time was married to Frank Reginelli. Janice was employed by United Cerebral Palsy Center for over 25 years as a teacher’s aide. In her spare time, Janice enjoyed bowling, horse back riding, traveling with her children and she adored animals.
Janice is survived by three daughters, Nicole and Jennifer Reginelli, both of Raleigh, NC; Lori Reginelli, of Delmar; her companion of nearly 20 years, Robert Smaldone; two sisters and their spouses, Margery and Robert Murray, and Barbara and Walter Maine, all of Ilion; a special niece, Missy Wohler, of Frankfort; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Janice was predeceased by her parents and two sisters, Karen and Carol Wohler.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 24, at 6 p.m. at the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, with the Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating; interment will be in the Middleville Cemetery in the spring. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 3 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
