Shirley A. (Steele) Seaver, 81, a longtime Herkimer resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at the Folts Homes, Herkimer.
She was born July 23, 1931, in Ilion, the daughter of the late Earl and Frances (Clemons) Steele, and was educated in Ilion schools.
Her marriage to Charles J. Seaver took place on May 9, 1953, in North Columbia. The couple shared a blessed union of 40 years until the passing of Mr. Seaver on Aug. 8, 1993.
Shirley was last employed at the former LaSalle Labs in Little Falls. At one time, she worked at Doufold in both Ilion and Mohawk.
Survivors include two sons, Charles Seaver and wife, Brenda, of Middletown, Pa., and James Seaver and wife, Denise, of Hedgeville, W.Va.; a daughter, Cynthia Schorer and husband, Ron, of Ilion; four grandchildren, Nicole Seaver, of Frankfort, Mariah Schorer, of Ilion, Sydney Seaver, of West Virginia, and Carlie Seaver, of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Shirley was predeceased by twin sons, Charles Joseph and James Mitchell Seaver, on July 25, 1957.
In keeping with Shirley’s wishes, there are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held in the spring at Calvary Cemetery, Herkimer.
