George W. Hotaling, 49, of McKoons Road, Richfield Springs, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, in Bassett Healthcare Center, Cooperstown, as a result of his injuries sustained due to a pedestrian and motor vehicle accident.
He was born June 7, 1963, in Ilion, the son of William Hotaling and the late Elaine Kay Meyers Hotaling. George was educated in Richfield Springs schools and later returned to receive his diploma from Richfield Springs High School in 2009.
George, at one time, was employed with Lane Construction Company. He was of the Methodist faith. George was a member of the Marine Corps League, where he enjoyed visiting. During his free time, he had a great love and passion for ice fishing.
He is survived by his father, William Hotaling, of Richfield Springs; his brother, James Hotaling and his fiancee, Lisa Marsh, of Union City, Pa.; and his aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his mother, Elaine Kay Hotaling, in 1995, and his sister, Elaine Katherine Hotaling, in 2004.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., Ilion, town of Frankfort, on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, from 12 to 2 p.m.
George’s funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, from the chapel of the Enea Family Funeral Home with Elder Ken Palmer officiating. Interment will be made in North Columbia Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest in the family plot.
