Richard “Rick” Rogers, Jr., 64, of Ilion, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.
Rick was born on Aug. 4, 1948, in Ilion the son of the late Richard and Lillian Newberry Rogers and was a graduate of Ilion High School.
At one time, Rick was employed with the former Library Bureau, Herkimer. He was very active in the Salvation Army and was of the Methodist faith.
Rick is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Melissa Rogers III, of Ilion; his sister, Janet Dodge, of Ilion; his grandchildren, Richard Rogers IV and Joshua Rogers; and several aunts, uncles, niece, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, Ken Rogers; his sister, Linda Perri; and his brother, Gary Rogers.
His funeral will commence on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at 12 p.m. from the chapel of the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., town of Frankfort, Ilion, with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Interment will follow in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
