Dorothy A. “Tyne” Dupont, 80, of Old State Road, passed away on Feb. 1, 2013, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.
Mrs. Dupont was born on Jan. 7, 1933, in North Gage, a daughter of the late Roy and Edna (Seifried) Darrow. She received her education in Poland schools. On Feb. 18, 1950, she was united in marriage with James O. Dupont in Newport. The couple owned and operated a farm in Middleville until 1978. After selling the farm, they moved to Newport and later to Poland. Jim preceded her in death on Aug. 5, 2000.
Survivors include her five children, Debra (Andy) Michael, of Frankfort, Joan Dupont (fiance, Joseph LaBate), of Herkimer, Mark (Kathy) Dupont, of Newport, Sue (Winger) McKerrow, of Newport, and David (Cindy) Dupont, of Poland; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Nancy Piseck, of Newport; one brother, Roy “Sonny” (Sandra) Darrow, of Cold Brook; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Lori; and by three sisters, Marion Shorter, June Cave and Betty Rommel.
Calling hours, at the Autenrith Funeral Home, Newport, are Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. A graveside service will take place at Middleville Rural Cemetery in the spring. Memorials may be made to KVAC or Newport Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes are available at the funeral home for both.
