Mrs. Margaret L. “Peggy” (Carter) Vivlamore, 81, formerly of North Fourth Avenue, Ilion, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Folts Homes, Herkimer, on Friday morning, July 16, 2010.
Peggy was born on June 5, 1929, in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Claude and Frances (Petrie) Carter. She was a graduate of Herkimer schools. On August 1, 1949, she married Richard D. Vivlamore in Norwood. He passed away on December 6, 2007.
She was last employed as a nurse’s aide at Herkimer Memorial Hospital. Margaret was a member of Annunciation Church, Ilion, and its Rosary Society.
Mrs. Vivlamore leaves her loving family; her son, Thomas Vivlamore and his wife, Nancy, of Ilion; a daughter, Kathleen Decker and her husband, Bernard, of Mohawk; brothers, Eugene Carter, of Herkimer, Richard Carter, of Wisconsin, and Robert Carter, of Arizona; a sister, Claudia Murray, of Ilion; sisters-in-law, Linda Carter, of Albany, Leona Carter, of North Carolina, Rachel Cummings, of Florida, and Betty Chouniard, of Oregon; and brothers-in-law, Jack Vivlamore and his wife, Kathryn, of Florida, and Charlie Ferguson, of Parishville. She also leaves her grandchildren, James Mazzitelli and his companion, Michelle Roth, of Virginia, Aaron and Patrick Decker, of Mohawk, Jennifer Williams and husband, Scott, of New Hartford, and David Vivlamore and wife, Jackie, of Herkimer; three great-grandchildren, Connell and Gavin Williams and Zack Harrington; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; brothers, Ralph and George Carter; and a sister, Mary Hull.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Rd., between Ilion and Frankfort (894-8000). Following the calling hour, her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Very Reverend Anthony Barratt, Pastor, at 10 a.m. in Annunciation Church, West Street, Ilion. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Richard, in St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer.
The family would like to thank the staff on the fifth floor of Folts Homes, Herkimer, for the loving care and comfort offered during her stay. Arrangements are by Daniel J. Enea, funeral director.
