Mrs. Lillian J. (Bennett) Travis, 76, of Second St., Ilion passed away on Wednesday morning, Nov. 12, 2008, in St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica.
She was born in Coquille, Ore., daughter of the late Elvis and Grayce Sarah Jane (Detweiller) Bennett and educated in Taft, Oregon schools. She married Richard Travis who passed away on Nov. 20, 2002. Lillian was last employed with Marine Midland Bank, Herkimer and Utica, and was of the Lutheran faith.
Lillian was active with the Ilion Marine Corps League and was an officer with the Holly Days Toy Program. She also belonged to the VFW Post No. 502 of Ilion.
Survivors include a son, Dan Travis and wife Kathy of Tacoma, Wash., and Debbie Sterling and husband Ron of Ilion; grandchildren, Kimberly and Rob Pierce, Kelly and Michael Caporale, Anthony Sterling all of Ilion and Jody and John Polidori of New Jersey, also surviving are many great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her brother, Elvis Travis.
