Redskins blank Magicians in tennis

Brian Kent won a close match at first singles as Cooperstown defeated Ilion 5-0 in a Center State Conference East boys tennis match Monday afternoon at the Clark Sports Center.
Kent’s win was the closest of the day as he beat Ilion’s Tony Schrader 9-7 in a first-set tie-breaker then won the second set 6-2.
The Redskins won the other two singles matches at love with Will Derovin beating Ryan Donato and Virginia Ofer beating Johnny Jo Springer.
In doubles, Cooperstown’s Sarah Angerer and Austin Lee defeated Dominick Calhoun and Jin Lin 6-3, 6-2 and Evan Feldner and Jasmin Feldner beat Kyle Howe and Sal Calhoun 6-0, 6-1.
Ilion dropped to 1-2 in the league and 2-3 overall.
