Herkimer County Community College shook off the disappointment of losing four games this past weekend by sweeping Adirondack Community College in a Region III doubleheader Tuesday afternoon.

HCCC SOFTBALL

The Lady Generals (15-9) had 11 hits in each game as they won by scores of 5-3 and 6-2.
Katelynn VanEron shook off some early troubles to pick up the win in the opener and also had a triple for the Lady Generals.
VanEron gave up three runs over the first two innings, but HCCC was able to rally taking the lead with   a three-run fourth.
Brittany Massie and Nikki Lippert each doubled for HCCC in the opening game. The Lady Generals were able to win despite committing six errors.
VanEron allowed eight hits with five strikeouts and two walks to improve to 8-4 on the season.
In the nightcap, HCCC once again rallied as it scored four times in the top of the sixth inning to break a 2-2 tie.
HCCC led 1-0 early before Adironack took the lead with a two-run third. HCCC then tied it in the fifth and broke the game open in the seventh.
VanEron had a couple of triples and Mount Markham graduate Courtney Roberts also tripled. Misty Mathis and VanEron had doubles for Herkimer.
Kelly Budzik picked up the win allowing four hits with two strikeouts and one walk.
HCCC will host North Country on Thursday.
