ILION 38, ADIRONDACK 6

Touchdowns scored on either side of halftime doubled Ilion’s lead and put the Golden Bombers on the path to their third straight lopsided victory.

Jon Treen scored on a two-yard run in the final second of the second quarter then ran 49 yards for another touchdown three plays into the second half to give the Golden Bombers (3-0, 3-0 C East) a 26-0 lead on the way to a 38-6 victory over the Adirondack Wildcats at Diss Memorial Field.

Treen ran  for 171 yards on 15 carries and had the Golden Bombers’ only successful conversion run of the day. Shea Murphy had touchdown runs of six and 15 yards on the first two Ilion drives and Kyle Salvagni and Matt Hall added touchdown runs in the second half.

Murphy ran for a season-high 103 yards and Ilion had 387 in all.

Adirondack put its points on the board in the fourth quarter when Devin Riegler ran 13 yards for a touchdown.

The Golden Bombers have a non-league game at home Friday against Sauquoit Valley.
