Canastota swept three games at home Tuesday and spoiled the Herkimer Magicians’ season-opening match.
Canastota’s Raiders earned their first win of the season by scores of 25-10, 25-17 and 25-7.
Zach Rosenberger had three kills, an ace and four digs for Herkimer (0-1); Michael Stalteri had three assists and a dig; Colin Acker had six digs; and
Chris Burns had an ace, a kill and a dig.
Josh Whaley served nine aces with a kill and two digs for Canastota (1-1); Avery Brennen had 12 kills, a block and four aces, 12 kills, 1 block; Brandon Pickard had 10 assists, an ace and two digs; and Elijah Cary had three aces, three kills and two digs.

WESTMORELAND, N.Y. — The Little Falls Mounties spotted Westmoreland the first game Tuesday but came back to beat the Bulldogs on four on the road.
The Mounties were 24-26, 25-13, 25-18, 25-14 winners in their second match of the young season.
Mat Armlin had 17 kills, three aces and two assists for Little Falls (2-0); Vinny Visconti had 16 assists, two kills and an ace; Kyle Barnes had nine assists and two aces; David Stephenson and Mitchell Smith each had four kills; and Tre Demeree had two kills.
Jake Landry had seven kills, seven assists, three aces and three digs for Westmoreland (0-1); James Marchesani had 12 assists, three aces, a kill and a dig; Jeremy Paine had five kills; and Tim Harrison had six kills.
Westmoreland was a 2-0 winner in junior varsity play.
