HCCC competes in Track and Field championships

Herkimer County Community College’s Chantal Salamone of Little Falls took home two second place finishes in the NJCAA Division III Track and Field Championships held at Alfred University, helping the Lady Generals place sixth overall.
Salamone took second in the heptathlon, and a second place in the 100 hurdles. She also took fourth in the long jump, seventh in the triple jump and ran a leg on the 400 meter relay team.
Salamone’s teammate, Jen Lighthall, also did well, taking third in the Heptathlon behind Salamone by 118 points, third in the long jump, sixth in the shot, sixth in the discus, eighth in the javelin, and also ran on the 400 meter relay team.
Other members of HCCC team: Amanda Link, fourth in the pole vault; Justine Ward, fifth in heptathlon, seventh in the high jump, eighth on the 3200 meter relay; Emmalee Kelting, eighth, 3200m relay; Kala Kaiser, eighth 3200m relay and 12th in javelin; Maria Scerra, ninth in high jump, 17th in the long jump and was on the 400m relay team;
On the men’s side, HCCC onky brought four mnembers of the team and finsished as follows: Terrance Flowers, sixth in the shot put; James Robinson, 13th in the 400  meter hurdles; Aaron Follman, 10th in the pole vault; Kurt Vowell reinjured his leg but still tried to compete placing 20th in the long jump and 17th in the triple jump.
