GIRLS' BOWLING: Maroon Knights win battle of CSC unbeatens

FRANKFORT-SCHUYLER 4, SHERBURNE-EARLVILLE 1

The Frankfort-Schuyler Maroon Knights won Thursday’s third game and overtook Sherburne-Earlville in total pins as they defeated the Marauders 4-1 in a meeting of unbeaten Center State Conference squads at Thurston’s.

Division II Sherburne-Earlville (7-1) had won the first game and maintained a 36-pin advantage entering the third. Division I Frankfort-Schuyler (9-0) took the third game 782-710 in their home alley and came out ahead 2,320-2,284 in the final count.

Cynthia Segarra (535) and Kory Bray (531) had the high series for the Maroon Knights. Segarra opened with a 213 and Bray closed with a 214. Micaela Dousharm added a 431 series with a high of 151 and Katlyn Walawender added 429 series with a high of 165.

Mandi LaClair threw a 598 series for Sherburne-Earlville with games of 225 and 207. Savanna Winton added a 451 series with a 190 game.

CANASTOTA 5, ILION 0

ILION, N.Y. — Canastota was a 5-0 winners over the Ilion Golden Bombers Thursday at the State Bowling Center.

Traci Abel threw a 488 series with a high of 177 for Canastota (2-8) and the Raiders outpinned Ilion 1,582-1,302. Keri Whitmeyer added 425 series with a high of 150.

Allie Polidori’s 323 was the high series for Ilion (0-10) and Nicole Pritchard’s 123 was the high game.

LITTLE FALLS 4, SAUQUOIT VALLEY 1

LITTLE FALLS, N.Y. — Bowling at home for the first time after the holidays, the Little Falls Mounties defeated Sauquoit Valley 4-1 Thursday at R.D.’s Gorge View Lanes.

The Mounties (6-3) knocked down 1,731 pins to Sauquoit Valley’s 1,650. The Mounties took the first game by 124 pins and maintained the lead in total pins after dropping Game 2 by 45. The final game went to the Mounties by a slim 594-592 margin.

Freshman Molly Bucenec threw a 428 series with a high of 158 for Little Falls. Jacquelynn Jones had a 145 in the first game and Nicole Worden had a 146 in the third.

Sauquoit Valley is now 4-5.

Little Falls also won the junior varsity match.
