The Syracuse Athletics took advantage of six Ilion errors to win the second game 13-2 and complete a doubleheader sweep in a non-league American Legion baseball game.
Syracuse won the first game 4-3 in the Father’s Day doubleheader.
In the nightcap, the Chiefs, a travel team from Syracuse, got to Post 920 starter Jim Traglia early. The Chiefs scored one in the first, two runs in the second then chased Traglia during a six-run third.
Zoller Silva went the first four innings to pick up the win for Syracuse, which had eight hits compared to just four for Ilion.
John Rooney had a double and Mike Weakly a triple for the winners.
In the first game, Ilion could muster just four hits as well.
Joe Gantz was relieved in the fifth inning by Dillon Hassett.
Ilion scored one run in the second and two in the fourth.
Ilion is back in action tonight when it opens Herkimer County play by hosting Herkimer.

ILION — Post 14 of Cumberland, Rhode Island rallied for four runs in its final two at-bats to beat Post 920 in a game Friday night.
Jeff Burns sacrifice fly plated the go-ahead run in the seventh inning and another run came home on a fielder’s choice.
Cameron DeMayo went the first six innings for Ilion before reaching his pitch limit. Dan Giacovelli then came on in the seventh and walked the only three batters he faced. Andrew Talerico relieved and retired all three batters he faced, but gave up the sacrifice fly and fielder’s choice to give Cumberland the lead.
Ilion had led 3-0 early. Post 920 scored all those runs in the second inning with Traglia getting an RBI single then John LeClair driving in two runs with another single.
Cumberland scored twice in the third before Ilion made it a 4-2 game with a run in the fifth.
Ilion had five hits in the game compared to seven for Cumberland.
