Following through just like the boys team did last week, the Frankfort-Schuyler Girls’ Bowling team won the Class C/D Section III, outscoring both Little Falls and Waterville by over 300 pins.
Helping Frankfort-Schuyler to their victory was the combination of Rebecca Bray, Kory Bray, Donna Marie Carino, Jamie Palumbo, Cynthia Segarra, Emily Bielejec and Lynsie Ferguson.
Together, the seven Maroon Knights racked up a total score of 4,555, with R. Bray averaging a 162 per game, K. Bray averaging a 155.67, Carino averaging a 152.0, Palumbo averaging a 148.0, Segarra averaging a 122.5, Bielejec averaging a 130.0 and Ferguson averaging a 129.0
Losing to the Knights by 330 pins was Little Falls. The Mounties posted a 4,225, which was third best (behind Waterville), thanks to Kayla Ostasz, Ashley Tinajero, Megan Douglass, Jessica Dawley, and Paula Waufle.
Ostasz bowled a 489, Tinajero bowled a 457, Douglass bowled a 438, Dawley bowled a 433 and Waufle bowled a 429.
Rounding out Class C/D was Mohawk, posting a 3,854. Their top bowler, Brittany Macrina posted the highest score of any local female with a 528 (176.0 average), but didn’t have the support Frankfort-Schuyler or Little Falls had.
Other than Macrina, Mohawk had no other bowlers post scores in the top 99. Allison Deutschman bowled a 400 which was 100th best, Noel Newkirk bowled a 386 which was 103rd best, Laura Mikus bowled a 340 which was 116th best, Michaela Monohan bowl a 244 which was 134th nest and Tara Parker bowl a 114 which was 145th best.
Ilion, the last local team not spoken of, finished in 6th place over the weekend in Class B. Helping the Bombers to their 4,412 was Janell Risi, Sarah Sullivan, Maegan Laymon, Rebecca Fogerty, Jennifer Bluett and Jennifer Sullivan.
Risi, S. Sullivan, Laymon and Fogerty finished in the top 76. Risi bowled a 474 (158.0 average), Sullivan bowled a 465 (155.0), Laymon bowled a 455 (151.67) and Fogerty bowled a 444 (148.0).
Not to be forgotten, Jennifer Bluett bowled a 296 for the Golden Bombers and J. Sullivan bowled a 117. That averaged to a 148.0 for Bluett and a 117.0 for J. Sullivan.
With the High School season now over, most of these girls can be seen at local bowling alleys competing in one of our many local leagues.
