Newcomer Katherine Dolly had a big night offensively as Herkimer beat Utica 21-6 in a U16 Girls Softball League game Wednesday night at Herkimer High School.
Dolly had two hits, including a home run, drove in two runs and scored three to lead Herkimer (2-0) to the win.
She had plenty of help as Josie Senatore doubled, drove in two runs and scored four times and Alyssa Napolitano had two hits with a triple and scored two runs. Shauna Mills also scored three times for Herkimer.
Another newcomer Erica Plumley tossed a seven-hittter with three walks and four strikeouts in the game called after six innings because of the mercy rule.
Herkimer is back in action tonight at 6 p.m.
