MOHAWK 3, CLINTON 2, overtime

Madeline Gassmann’s goal in overtime gave the Mohawk Mohicans a 3-2 win Wednesday over the Clinton Warriors.

The Mohicans had scored twice before halftime and Clinton twice after during regulation play. Gassmann’s goal came with 4:22 left in the extra session.

Alex Bandel scored two goals six minutes apart to put Mohawk (5-6-0, 5-5-0 CSC East) up 2-0. Bandel also assisted on Gassmann’s goal. Cecilia Guido assisted on Bandel’s first goal.

Anna Femia scored both Clinton goals including the equalizer with 13:06 left in the second half.

Mohawk takes on Sauquoit Valley Friday in the first round of the Sauquoit Valley Booster Club Tournament. Little Falls and Morrisville-Eaton meet in the other first-round game Thursday. The championship game will be played Saturday at 1 p.m. following the 11 a.m. consolation.

HERKIMER 4, ILION 0

ILION, N.Y. — Bri Parks had a pair of goals for Herkimer Thursday in the Magicians’ 4-0 victory over Ilion’s Golden Bombers.

Kyria Plunkett added a goal and two assists for Herkimer and Nicole Zaleski scored the other goal. Krista Green and Taylor Morris each contributed an assist.

Alicia Simmons made four saves for Ilion.

Ilion is home Friday for a game against Canastota. Herkimer plays at Whitesboro Friday.
